Cons:

Comfort, MPG

Review:

I've had my Xterra for 7 years now and it's only been to a mechanic for replacing brakes and the timing belt and a couple recalls that Nissan dealers took care of quickly. Easy to work on. Great off road, average on road. Ass gets sore after about 300 miles.

Pros:

versatile. Easy to drive & easy to maintain

Cons:

poor acceleration & poor mileage

Review:

XE 4x4 5 sp owned for 2 years. Great for offroad and towing our boat.
Friends have heavily modified their X's for serious offroading. There are a number of very active internet bulletin boards for X offroad enthusiasts.
Kids enjoyed learning to drive a standard on it. Reliable & easy to maintain. Daughter complains about rear seat comfort on longer trips (2 hours +)
Only other negative is a double whammy: poor acceleration and poor mileage. I could live with just one or the other... but having both is a little disappointing

Very happy

I bought my 2002 used, and it has been a great vehicle. It has been problem free since I got it.
All in all I am satisfied with my purchase.

I get about 300 miles to the gallon on a 19 and 3/8 gallon tank... I was getting them same in my 25 gal Durango, so the gas mileage is great! love it!!

MPG, Nissan and the lies

Review:

I bought a 2002 new from the floor. I have put on 85,000 miles - all freeway. I have never broke 17 miles to the gallon. That is after I put a K&N and a high flow exhaust.

I would fall over dead if I got 18. I can pull onto the freeway - set cruise for 200 miles at 60mph, pull off - as I will now need gas and I will not break 17 mpg. How is Nissan not frauding the customers?
